If you have 1,000,000 parts of air, then 387 of them are CO2. Scientists say that 350 parts per million CO2 in the atmosphere is the safe limit for humanity.
All over the world, people are taking action on the 23rd and 24th October to influence the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December 2009.
Here at MAC, Team green organises a tree planting afternoon!
Carol explains: “Friday 23rd October, period 5…all whanaus are involved in planting 5 trees. They work together as a Whanau in their House groups and each house has a plot of land to plant their trees in. They can be as creative as they want!! They will be instructed professionally how to plant.
The days leading up to the event, the school will become very aware of WHY they are doing this with information cascaded to them from Team Green! We are hoping to get fruit trees for a school orchard and natives.
Thank you so much for your support and supporting sustainability within the school :)”
